Designed to market to Mexico as this sign is visible from several key points in Tijuana including: the main pedestrian and vehicle bridges connecting the border crossing area to central Tijuana and the world famous Avenida Revolucion commercial district. In Tijuana, the border crossing area and central Tijuana are bifurcated by the Tijuana River. Therefore, all traffic moving to/from the border must cross either the pedestrian bridge or the vehicle bridge. With approximately 20 million pedestrian crossings per year, this pedestrian bridge is heavily traveled. Northbound crossings by vehicle typically experience 1 to 2 hour waits. This results in bumper-to-bumper traffic which often extends onto the vehicle bridge providing a clear view of the South Face.
